| | | Benton County Purchased in 1944 by Scott’s parents, the Johnson farm located in Foley, Minnesota, has transitioned from a dairy and beef operation into a farm that produces 94,000 broiler chickens a year. Scott began his part of the chicken operation when he was 16 and as a senior in high school, he took over the contract that the family had with Gold’n Plump Poultry. In 2002, the Johnson’s built a wean-to-finish hog facility where they contracted through Wakefield Pork, Inc.
Scott and Carla have four children-Shelby, Riley, Colby and Gabby, who they have enjoyed raising in the country. Scott is currently serving as the chair on the Planning Commission for Benton County Board. Carla is a part-time teacher and is the coordinator of the Foley Mothers of Preschoolers organization. The Johnson’s are very involved in their church and believe time spent together on the farm is a true blessing.
