The Waldoch farm, located in Lino Lakes, Minnesota, has seen many changes since its start in 1919. The farm has evolved from a roadside vegetable stand into a Garden Center where they grow 95% of what they sell on site. Waldoch farm has eight greenhouses, 30 acres of “pick-your-own” vegetable garden and employs up 30 seasonal workers. The farm is currently operated by Mary Joyer and her sister, Kathy Rivard, with help from their sons.
Mary and Kathy have been very active in the 4-H Youth Development Program and have been long time 4-H volunteer leaders. Other activities include: the Forest Lake Advisor Board and the Minnesota Landscape Association. Waldoch Farm will be hosting their fourth 4-H Family Farm Fest this fall which is an event that drew nearly 650 people last year which provides information and education about agriculture and the environment in a family focused manner.
