| | | Aitkin County Emil’s E-Z Acres farm near McGregor, Minnesota is the home of the Duane and Deb Swedberg family. The farm, named after Duane’s grandfather who homesteaded the farm, is where Duane began farming at a young age. By his later years in high school, Duane had a small beef operation on his own. After Duane met Deb, they gradually moved the beef operation toward a dairy-oriented business. The Swedbergs are the third generation on this dairy and crop farm.
During the winter months, Duane spends much of his time between chores in the woods cutting pulp wood and is a member of the Dairy Herd Improvement Association. Deb is secretary to the principal in the McGregor school district and is always ready to assist on the farm during the summer months. Although the Swedberg children are grown, they played an important role in the success that Duane and Deb have seen on their family dairy farm.
